'Half the Sky' author at MSCTC todayMOORHEAD – Business executive, entrepreneur and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sheryl WuDunn will speak at 4 p.m. today in the Oscar Bergos Center at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
A book signing will follow her presentation, and the event is free and open to the public.
WuDunn most recently co-authored “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide” with journalist Nicholas Kristof. The book takes readers on an odyssey through Africa and Asia to meet the extraordinary women struggling there. Kristof and WuDunn show how a little help can transform the lives of women and girls abroad.
The Half the Sky Movement focuses on gender equality for women and girls around the world.
A two-part full-length documentary featuring the book aired on PBS Monday and Tuesday.
