15-year-old arrested after armed holdup, burglaryFARGO – Two people were held up at gunpoint near a liquor store in south Fargo on Friday night, and police have arrested one 15-year-old boy in connection with the event, Police Lt. Joel Vettel said.
Vettel said a 911 call came in from Bottle Barn Liquors in south Fargo just after 9 p.m. Friday after a male held up two people at gunpoint in the nearby neighborhood and demanded to be driven to the liquor store.
Once at the store, the armed suspect stayed outside. The clerk at the store called 911, and the suspect fled, Vettel said.
Ten minutes later, police responded to a burglary in progress within several blocks of the liquor store, Vettel said. Police arrested a 15-year-old boy at the site of the burglary.
Vettel said the juvenile matched the description of the person involved in the earlier holdup but could not yet confirm if they were the same person.
The juvenile was arrested for the burglary, and both incidents remain under investigation, Vettel said. No injuries were reported.
