ND dental hygienist group elects officers

The North Dakota Dental Hygienists Association has elected new officers.

Those elected are Linda Alton, Williston, president; Dana Schmit, Wahpeton, president-elect; Angela Breedlove, East Grand Forks, Minn., past president; Jeralyn Peterson, Fargo, vice president; Rachelle Gustafson, Thompson, treasurer; Monica Gourde, Bismarck, membership trustee; Crystal Shumake, Fargo, resource trustee; Christina O’Neill, newsletter editor; Hollie Harrington, Lisbon, delegate; and Judy Bernat, Fisher, Minn., secretary.

Bethany receives Best Practices Award

Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, has received the North Dakota Best Practices Award from the North Dakota Long Term Care Association.

The program identifies, recognizes and encourages exceptional care in long term care facilities throughout North Dakota.

Bethany was honored for its staff/volunteer program “I am a Star,” an educational series that helps nurses enhance communication, documentation, care planning and coaching strategies skills.

Discovery Benefits earns national award

Discovery Benefits, Fargo, was named a winner in Business Insurance magazine’s 2012 list of Best Places to Work in Insurance.

Winners were selected, in part, on an anonymous survey completed by employees.

This is the third consecutive year Discovery Benefits has earned this national award.

NDSCS presents awards during homecoming

The North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, recognized a group of distinguished alumni and friends during this year’s homecoming events.

Honorees included: Jeanette Miller, Alumnus of the Year; the Jacklitch family, A Family Tradition; Linda and Mike Neppl, Wildcats of the Year; Corner Drug, Friend of the College; Carol and Blayne Helgeson, Parade Grand Marshals; and Mary Uhren, Kyle Armitage and Richard Siegel, Commitment to Excellence.

Andrews Herman named labor lawyer of year

Sarah Andrews Herman of the Dorsey & Whitney law firm, Fargo, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Fargo Labor Law-Management Lawyer of the Year.

Andrews Herman was also selected by her peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America 2013 in the practice areas of employment, management, labor, management and litigation and labor and employment.

This marks the 15th year Andrews Herman has been selected for listing in Best Lawyers.

BCBSND honors health facilities with awards

Sanford Fargo received the 2012 Bold Innovator Award from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota at its inaugural Innovations in Health Care awards luncheon Tuesday in Fargo.

Sanford was recognized for achieving the best results among health care facilities in North Dakota in diabetes care, vascular care and high blood pressure.

Family Medical Clinic, Lisbon, earned the Distinctive Innovator Award for Better Health for its use of MediQHome to track and monitor the health of patients with chronic conditions;

Honorable Innovator awards went to Essentia Health, Fargo, Innovation through Commitment and Collaboration; Family Healthcare Center, Fargo, Care Management Programs for Diversified Populations; and Valley Community Health Centers, Northwood, Larimore and Grand Forks, Best Rural Health Performer Hypertension Control.

Schneider attorneys listed in Best Lawyers

Mark G. Schneider and Steven C. Schneider, founding partners of the Schneider, Schneider & Schneider law firm in Fargo, are listed in The Best Lawyers in America, 19th edition, for their work in the practice area of workers compensation law.

They were also named to the Super Lawyers listing, where Mark Schneider was recognized for his work in the area of Social Security disability and Steven Schneider for his advocacy in the practice of workers’ compensation law.

Park Co. Realtor website earns top rank

The Park Co. Realtor website has received the No. 1 ranking in the REAL Trends 2012 Top Real Estate Online Performance Rankings.

The rankings are based on various metrics that portray the overall performance of real estate websites, including pages per visit, time on site, percentage of search traffic, social presence, page load performance times, design and usability.

More than 400 real estate brokerages representing more than 19,000 agents were represented in the survey.
