Weekend watch: Sherry Short exhibit opening

For local artist and Minnesota State University Moorhead professor Sherry Short, the stark and remote landscapes of the Minnesota and North Dakota wilderness are a source of inspiration.

A collection of Short’s landscape-related artwork, made mostly in graphite, pastel and charcoal called “Reflections from Solitude,” opens Friday at The Rourke Art Gallery, 423 4th St. S., Moorhead.

An opening reception for the exhibit runs from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Short will present a gallery talk at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The exhibit runs at the gallery through Nov. 11. (218) 236-8861.
