Casselton house fire started when farmer out in fields

CASSELTON, N.D. – Fire officials are investigating a residential fire here reported just after 9 p.m., according to a WDAY News report.

Firefighters responded to a home at 210 2nd St. S. after a neighbor reported seeing smoke. Firefighters who responded to the scene said they could see flames coming through the roof.

The homeowner, a farmer, was out in the fields at the time of the fire. No injuries had been reported as of late Monday night.

Fire crews from Mapleton and Casselton responded.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
