Women’s studies conference seeks presentation proposalsThe 12th Annual Red River Women’s Studies Conference is Oct. 26 at Minnesota State University Moorhead in the Comstock Memorial Union.
Scholars and community activists are invited to submit proposals for panels, papers, workshops and creative presentations relating to how gender and technology intersect, along with the ways in which technology shapes feminist theory and activism. Deadline for submission is Sunday.
This year’s theme is Feminism in Action: Perspectives on Gender and Technology. Andrea Quijada, executive director of the New Mexico Media Literacy Project, will be the keynote speaker.
The conference also has a student conference within the overall conference. Current MSUM, North Dakota State University and University of North Dakota undergraduate students are invited to participate by submitting proposals for posters or multi-media presentations detailing research in women’s and gender studies related to the themes of the conference. One student will receive a prize.
