Letter: Climate change message is clearThe Forum has spent a good bit of ink and paper discussing the flood diversion, which is expected to cost $1.8 billion. Recently there have been reports of needing to spend more than $700 million to access water from the Missouri. So, $1.8 billion for extreme flood protection, $700 million or so in order to access more water in an extreme drought scenario?
With the city on the hunt for more than $2.5 billion related to extreme weather and climatic events, is it still too early for our political leaders to begin a discussion or at least show some concern over climate change causes and impacts on our area?
