Stolen truck recovered from Wild Rice River near Wahpeton, N.D.

WAHPETON, N.D. – Authorities are seeking information on a stolen truck recovered from the Wild Rice River in rural Wahpeton on Monday.

A resident reported finding the 1998 Chevy truck partially submerged in the river at 77th Street shortly after 8 p.m.

The truck, registered to Joseph Vertin & Sons of Breckenridge, Minn., was stolen around 10 p.m. Sunday in Breckenridge, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.

The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information about the incident or who saw the white truck with a crane mount being driven between 10 p.m. Sunday and 8 p.m. Monday contact the sheriff’s office or Breckenridge Police Department.

Dwight Fire and Rescue and the Richland County Dive Rescue Team also responded to the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
