Letter: NDSU has mishandled petition fraud allegationsI’m confused by the sequence of events surrounding the North Dakota State University football team. Why were so many players hired to perform these duties, and who hired them? They likely spent an hour per day forging signatures and receiving pay for eight hours of labor. How much did each player earn, and were they paid a higher rate than non-football players?
Comments by coach Craig Bohl and Athletic Director Gene Taylor have not been impressive. According to player Joe Lund, Bohl fired up his squad with a fiery rant and “told us there is a lot of hating on you right now.” Taylor is telling us “it’s over” and “people need to move on because it’s not changing.” Add NDSU President Dean Bresciani to the mix and you have three dazed and confused individuals in denial about a crime affecting the entire state of North Dakota.
The players should be suspended until they contact every person they forged on their petitions.
