Letter: Heitkamp sings a different tune

I saw Heidi Heitkamp on the Ed Show and I couldn’t believe how she was singing a different tune. She says, “Rick Berg can’t run from his record,” but she refuses to take responsibility for her own record of supporting President Barack Obama and Obamacare.

She also stressed the need to “make health care more affordable and reduce the cost of health care.” How does adding 8.1 million new people into a system make it more affordable? More importantly, if this will reduce the cost of health care, why hasn’t Heitkamp gotten us the numbers like she promised 130 days ago?

She also said she’s “not taking Mitt Romney’s lead on anything.” How can Heitkamp claim to have North Dakota interests in mind when she will vote to re-elect someone more than 70 percent of North Dakotan’s disapprove of? We can’t afford to have Heitkamp flip-flop on us as soon as she gets to the Senate. We need to elect Berg.
