Kentucky guardsman charged in fatal Devils Lake crashDEVILS LAKE, N.D. — Charges are being filed against the driver in the crash in the city of Devils Lake that killed two and injured another, according to the police department.
Christopher Brandt, 23, of Kentucky, faces two counts of manslaughter, a Class B felony, and a count of reckless endangerment, a Class C felony.
Prosecutors accuse him of driving recklessly at high speed when his car crashed into a tree and rolled over late Wednesday or early Thursday. Ronald Forsyth, 31, and Jason Burnette, 23, were killed. Brandt and David Duncan, 23, were injured. They were treated and released from Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
All four were members of the Kentucky National Guard undergoing military engineering training at Camp Grafton, near Devils Lake.
