Elevate Rock School to host concert SundayFARGO – Elevate Rock School in Fargo will host an outdoor student showcase Sunday at 4480 23rd Ave. S.
The show will begin at 1 p.m. and is expected to last five hours.
The event is free and open to the public.
The school, which opened in 2011, teaches more than 200 students from ages 5 to 50 in vocals, keyboard, drums, acoustic guitar and bass guitar.
Students learn the fundamentals of their chosen instrument as they would at traditional music lessons, but every other week Elevate Rock students get the opportunity to practice in a group and play in a band with other musicians. Students are grouped by age and learning level into bands that are made up of a drummer, guitar players, a keyboard player and a vocalist.
Three times a year, the school hosts a concert showcase during which each band plays their choice of songs in front of a live audience of friends, family and community members.
