Applebee's moving into former Ruby Tuesday building in West Fargo
The new Applebee’s will open at 11 a.m. Sept. 22.
The Ruby Tuesday closed in late July.
The new location features better visibility and traffic access from 13th Avenue, more parking for guests and a revitalized look and feel, according to a news release from Food Management Investors Inc., owners of the restaurant.
The former Applebee’s location at Time Square East across from Wal-Mart opened in 2002.
“Our new standalone restaurant suits our loyal and growing business well and provides us with an opportunity to refresh the look and feel of Applebee’s while continuing to serve the neighborhood we’ve called home for 18 years,” Abe Sakak, chief operating officer of FMI Inc. and a partner of the West Fargo Applebee’s, said in the release.
To mark the restaurant’s opening, Applebee’s will host a “Very Important Neighbor” fundraising event on Sept. 21 when West Fargo firefighters will collect donations at the door.
“Being a good neighbor means giving back to the community, so we’re very pleased to support the West Fargo Fire Department with our first fundraising event,” Sakak said.
Minot-based FMI operates four Applebee’s locations in the metro area, said Leslie Herslip-Stevens, FMI marketing director.
Among its national holdings, the company owns 23 Applebee’s, two Village Inn restaurants, two Space Aliens, one Qdoba Mexican Grill and a Badlands Grill.
The West Fargo restaurant will be decorated with wall images of local sports teams, area police and firefighters, and a mural specific to the neighborhood.
