Letter: Thank you for finding lost dog

Our German shepherd, Daisy, who is 12 years old, deaf and very arthritic, wandered into a large corn field and disappeared – we suspect tracking a deer or some other wild creature. We searched in vain for several hours and were beginning to panic due to the coming darkness.

At this point, I received a phone call from a young man who had stopped to help her. She had wandered several miles, had come out of the field on an unfamiliar road and was limping along the side of a busy highway going away from home, not toward it. The young man stayed with her and kept her calm until we could get there.

Thank you so much to the young man for this wonderful act of kindness, not only to Daisy but to her owners. It goes to show there are still some wonderful, kind and thoughtful people in this world. I only wish I had been able to get his name.
