Park Center senior commits to play for UND men’s basketball team

GRAND FORKS – The University of North Dakota men’s basketball team has landed a verbal commitment from a sought-after regional recruit.

Quinton Hooker, who will be a 6-foot senior guard at Park Center in Brooklyn Park, Minn., said he picked North Dakota over offers from South Dakota State, Wofford and Florida Gulf Coast.

Wofford advanced to the NCAA tournament in 2010 and 2011, while the Jackrabbits accomplished the feat in 2011.

“I felt like I was most comfortable with (UND),” said Hooker, who averaged 26 points per game as a junior at Park Center. “The staff was great and the players were great. The town and school were really nice, too.”
