Services, dinner set for aviator Odegaard

FARGO – The Fargo Air Museum and St. Maurice’s Catholic Church in Kindred are hosting events to honor and remember famed pilot Bob Odegaard, one of the museum’s founders, who died Friday while practicing for the Valley City Air Show.

There will be visitation from 5 to 7 tonight at St. Maurice’s, followed by a prayer service at 7.

From 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday the Fargo Air Museum will host an EEA 317 “secret recipe” pancake breakfast to honor Odegaard.

Visitation will continue starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Maurice’s, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Kindred Cemetery.

Following the burial, there will be a light supper and “Ode to Odegaard” event at the Fargo Air Museum. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate the aviator’s life.

At the request of the family, memorials may be given to St. Maurice’s Church or the Fargo Air Museum in lieu of flowers.
