New Miss Indian Nations crowned at United Tribes powwowBISMARCK — A Nevada woman is the new Miss Indian Nations.
Twenty-five-year-old Shannon Hooper of Fallon, Nev., was crowned during the 43rd annual United Tribes International Powwow in Bismarck, which wrapped up over the weekend.
Hooper is a member of the Shoshone-Paiute tribe and a student at Western Nevada College. She becomes the 20th Miss Indian Nations.
The annual powwow is held at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck. It draws thousands of people from around the country.
