Letter: Rick Berg is highly qualified for the jobNational unemployment of more than 8 percent, $16 trillion of national debt, continual increasing government regulations, higher taxes and higher spending. Sounds like an economic recipe for financial disaster. Come November, we have a decision to make for the direction of this great nation: one of more of the status quo or one of less government regulation, lower government spending and fewer taxes.
I served with Rick Berg in the North Dakota House of Representatives for six sessions and also had the privilege of working with Berg when he was the House majority leader. As House majority leader, Berg would listen to all sides of an issue. Whenever I had concerns, Berg always had his door open for discussion.
Berg was the same back then as he is today – pushing for less government regulation, creating a business climate that helps small businesses create new jobs and hire new employees. Berg, as House majority leader, worked hand in hand with then Gov. John Hoeven. The economy of North Dakota is proof of these successful beliefs and working relationships. I believe the same will be true for North Dakota and the nation when Rick Berg is elected to the United States Senate.
I believe in Berg’s vision for our nation. His vision brings the policies of North Dakota to Washington. Join me in November in voting for Berg for the U.S. Senate.
Pollert, R, represents District 29 in the North Dakota House of Representatives.
