Letter: Does anyone else see obvious parallel?

In his campaign for U.S. Senate, Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., is running a television ad in which he suggests that a key reason for electing him to office is so he can serve as a “check and balance” on President Barack Obama. Fair enough. He’s entitled to his opinion.

But Berg can’t drive that argument in two directions at the same time. In other words, his logic would also argue for supporting the election of Democratic-NPL candidate Ryan Taylor for governor – so that Taylor can serve as a check and balance on what most likely will be a North Dakota Legislature controlled by a Republican supermajority.
