AFL-CIO organizes lockout protests outside homes of American Crystal board membersCROOKSTON, Minn. – For the second day in a row, union workers are picketing outside the homes of American Crystal Sugar board members in an effort to appeal directly to the company’s power brokers to end a 13-month-old lockout.
Picketing began Tuesday outside five homes in Crookston, Ada, Minn., East Grand Forks, Minn., Drayton, N.D., and Minto, N.D. Union organizers say it will continue until progress is made toward ending the lockout.
The AFL-CIO, which has stepped up its support of locked-out Crystal workers in recent months, is organizing the picketing.
Wednesday’s picketing will be at the home of board member Donald Andringa. The company has 15 board members.
