Motorcycle chase ends with crash in MoorheadMOORHEAD – Police here arrested a 31-year-old Fargo man following a motorcycle chase that reached speeds of up to 60 mph early Sunday.
An officer initially tried to stop the motorcycle at about 3:16 a.m. in the 2500 block of Eighth Street South. The driver slowed as if he were going to stop but then quickly sped up, according to a news release from Sgt. Toby Krone.
The officer pursued the bike as it turned westbound on 30th Avenue South. The motorcyclist lost control and crashed while trying to turn north onto Fifth Street South.
Shawn James McEachern, 31, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of fleeing a police officer, driving under the influence and not having a Minnesota driver’s license or insurance.
McEachern sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital before being taken to the Clay County Jail.
