St. Alexius planning $8 million clinic in MandanMANDAN, N.D. — St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck is planning an $8 million clinic in Mandan to replace its existing facility in the neighboring city.
The 22,000-square-foot, 306-bed clinic is expected to open in early 2014, employing an additional 20 employees, including four new doctors.
St. Alexius CEO Gary Miller says the hospital bought the land five years ago with the expectation that Mandan would grow. The city recently built a new middle school in the area and is considering a new elementary school. A Walmart also is planned.
St. Alexius' competitor, the former Medcenter One, recently completed a merger with Dakotas-based Sanford Health.
