Teens charged in Mapleton, Fargo armed robberies; prosecutors want cases moved to adult courtFARGO – The Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed a robbery charge in juvenile court against a 17-year-old Fargo boy in connection with the armed robbery of Gordy’s Travel Plaza in Mapleton on Aug. 20.
The boy also has been charged, along with a 17-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy, with conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the Aug. 17 stickup of the Giant Panda restaurant in Fargo.
The state’s attorney’s office has filed motions to have all of the cases transferred to adult court, according to a news release. Hearings on the motions are set for Tuesday.
Juvenile court proceedings are closed to the public, but transfer motion hearings are open to the public, State’s Attorney Birch Burdick said at an Aug. 21 press conference.
The Gordy’s robbery suspect was arrested in Fargo about a half-hour after the robbery. Within 48 hours, police announced the arrests of the other two teens in connection with the Giant Panda robbery.
