Car show for cancer awareness on SaturdayFARGO – Now in its fourth year, a benefit car show started by a Moorhead man who lost his son to cancer will take place Saturday in south Fargo.
The Originals Car Club will host the Childhood Cancer Awareness Car Show from noon to 5 p.m. in the Culver’s parking lot at 4615 13th Ave. S.
The show is free to the public. Donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center’s children’s playroom.
Activities will include a bounce house for kids, face painting and hotdog- and custard-eating contests.
Cars, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles – basically “anything with wheels” – are welcome in the show, said Ismael “Smiley” Perez, who started the show in memory of his 4-year-old son, Angel, who died of leukemia in 2007.
Registration is from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and entry fees are $10 per vehicle and $5 per bicycle. Trophies will be awarded for the top three places in all categories.
