Five Things Friday: 5 ways to shake up your look

Editor’s note: “5 Things Friday” is a weekly feature in SheSays that will run on – you guessed it – Fridays. It will focus on quick tips, ideas, activities and more – all in bunches of five. If you have a “5 Things Friday” suggestion, contact us at shesays@forumcomm.com.

Feeling uninspired? It doesn’t take an entire new wardrobe to create a fresh look. Get more mileage out of what you already have with a few changeups.

Top off your outfit with a bow bracelet

I fell in love with this red one by BCBGeneration, $18 at Macy’s. The whimsical bow adds femininity and interest to any ensemble.

Leopard print is the new neutral.

I adore my leopard print belt from Target because it looks more expensive than it is ($16.99), and it adds a spunky splash to my wardrobe.

Swipe on confidence with lipstick.

Besides believing that happy girls are the prettiest girls, Audrey Hepburn believed in lipstick – and for a good reason. Find a pink or red that flatters your coloring and wear it fearlessly. You’ll hold your head higher.

I like Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple, $6.49 at Target, and NARS lipstick in Manhunt, $24 at Sephora.

Beat the blues with color.

Stuck in a black/white/grey/khaki rut? Try a cardigan in a color that pops, like mustard or coral. It’ll perk up those neutrals. I like Old Navy’s stretch cardis, $24.94.

Sass starts at your feet.

Break out those shoes that you’re usually too timid to wear, or indulge and buy a new pair that makes you feel like a movie star. Glittery? Awesome. Four-inch heel? Even better.
