Laqua names Myles Montplaisir as MSUM's starting QBMOORHEAD – Redshirt freshmen Myles Montplaisir has earned the starting quarterback spot for Minnesota State Moorhead, head coach Steve Laqua confirmed on Monday.
The Dragons host Wayne State at 1 p.m. on Saturday in their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and season opener.
True freshman Jake Hodge and redshirt freshmen Ryan Toelle are vying for the No. 2 spot on the quarterback depth chart.
Montplaisir, a former standout at Fargo Shanley High School, helped the Deacons to two North Dakota Class 2A state championships in 2009 and 2010.
