Victim kicked in face during armed robbery in south FargoFARGO – A man was robbed at gunpoint and kicked in the face during a mugging Sunday night in south Fargo, police said.
The robbery was reported at 9:35 p.m. in the area of 15th Avenue and 14½ Street South.
The victim told police he was approached by two males wearing dark clothing. They demanded money, and he began to struggle with them until one of them pulled out a handgun, Sgt. Jared Crane said.
The victim was knocked to the ground, and the suspects took his wallet and kicked him in the face, Crane said. The victim told police he heard one of the suspects say something along the lines of “just shoot him,” Lt. Joel Vettel said.
The first officer to arrive on the scene saw two men in the distance standing over the victim. They took off running, and the officer chased them on foot, but they got away, Vettel said.
Police recovered the weapon, which was a BB gun that the suspects apparently dropped while running from the scene, Crane said.
