Alcohol believed to be a factor in crash that killed Dazey manDAZEY, N.D. – Police believe alcohol was a factor in a one-vehicle crash just west of here that left the driver dead early Sunday morning.
The victim, 43-year-old Jarrod Sherlock of Dazey, was the sole occupant of a Dodge pickup truck traveling eastbound on Barnes County Road 4, according to the North Dakota State Highway Patrol.
Around 2 a.m., the truck entered the south ditch, swerved back across the road, and rolled over in the north ditch before coming to rest in a nearby field, the highway patrol said.
Sherlock, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Dazey is a town of about 100, about 25 miles northwest of Valley City.
