Bystanders stop driver from fleeing after crashWEST FARGO – Police here arrested a motorcycle driver Friday night after a crash they say was fueled by alcohol.
Nathan Ostlie, 35, of Mapleton, crashed his motorcycle near the intersection of 16th Avenue and 10th Street West.
While officers were on the way to the scene, bystanders alerted police that Ostlie was attempting to ride away. One bystander removed the keys from the motorcycle.
When an off-duty officer arrived and asked Ostlie to stay at the scene, Ostlie instead fled on foot. The officer chased him down with help from bystanders.
Ostlie was arrested and taken to Cass County Jail. Police said they expect him to be charged with driving under the influence, driving under revocation, fleeing an officer, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.
