Coach: Heather Stuberg (third year)
2011 record: 28-11
Who’s gone: Sydney Bork, Whitney Syverson, Paige Weston, Jenna Wawers.
Who’s back: Brook Hildre, Jr., MH; Kinsey Papachek, Jr., OH; Mackenna Bachmeier, Sr., DS; Katelyn Olson, Jr., S; Kali Erickson, Sr., OH.
Coach’s comments: “I think we are going to be more aggressive than we have been in the past,” Stuberg said. “I think our team chemistry is going to be there and it will be a fun season … Our hitting and blocking will be really strong again this year.”
Coach: Jerry Daily (second year)
2011 record: 30-10
Who’s gone: Keli Johnson, Danielle Brewer, McKenzie Cody, Erica Nelson.
Who’s back: Kira Larson, Sr., OH; Courtney Johnson, Sr., S; Taylor Preston, Sr., Libero; Kelsie Schmiess, Jr., S; Emma Bergeron, Jr., OH/MH.
Coach’s comments: “We’ll have a nice team with a fair amount of experience coming back from last season,” Daily said. “The two girls (Johnson and Schmiess) who are setting for us this year did not play that position last year, so it will be a new experience. Both are doing a good job and will get better as the season goes along.”
Coach: Curtis Johnson (second year)
2011 record: 28-7
Who’s gone: Ashley Vetter, Bethany Sandy, Alex Sweeney, Kelsey Kanwischer, Haley Greving.
Who’s back: Alivia Fraase, Soph., MH; Jessica Anderson, Sr., MH; Haley Brenner, Sr., OH.
Coach’s comments: “It is going to be a growing process, but I think we will get better as the season goes on,” Johnson said. “As we get used to having new people on the court we will improve. … You got to be prepared to play every night in the EDC, and you can’t take a night off.”
Coach: Andrea Harmon (second year)
2011 record: 7-25
Who’s gone: Anna Foss, Maddie Odegaard, Anna Hochhalter, Riley Semanko, Rachel Kautzman.
Who’s back: Kelsey Elness, Sr., MB; Lindsey Klug, Sr., OH; Alyssa Skrove, Jr., Libero/DS; Emily Stroup, Fr., S/OH; Nevada Wilson, Sr., DS.
Coach’s comments: “We are looking pretty solid this year,” Harmon said. “We have a lot of players on the team that saw varsity time a year ago and we have definitely improved from last year … We look like an entirely different team and the players are more confident and comfortable.”
Coach: Paula Pierson (sixth year)
2011 record: 19-19

Coach’s comments: “We got some returning experience, which is going to help us,” Pierson said of the Packers, who finished fifth at the state tournament a year ago. “We are going to need some time, like every team will, to find that right combination of players. … We have some major holes to fill on our team from last season.”

Coach’s comments: “We are looking pretty good with only losing two girls from last year,” Stinar said. “We are balanced, deep and experienced at every position. We aren’t the biggest team around, but we are very athletic.”

Coach’s comments: “With graduating such a large senior class, we got some holes to fill,” Lien said. “We have a lot of height, which is something we haven’t had in a while. … We need to work on our ball control, setting and passing. If we can improve on that we’ll be a tough team to play against this year.”
Coach: Tessa Tysver (fifth year)
2011 record: 21-8
Who’s gone: Emily Frink, Emily Pender, Jade Tigue, Kylia Otte, Desire Milbradt.
Who’s back: Mandy Mercil, Sr., S; Katie Highness, Sr., MH; Hannah Young, Sr., OH; Kinzie Molstre, Sr., OH; Sierra Penske, Sr., RS.
Coach’s comments: “We have nine seniors on the team this year and with a strong incoming class we should be a solid team,” Tysver said of the Rebels who are defending Heart O’ Lakes champions. “Our team strengths this year will be our net play and blocking. … We have a lot of height up front this year and we will also be a strong serving team.”
Moorhead Park Christian
Coach: Julie Faul (first year)
2011 record: 10-18
Who’s gone: Jess Nellermoe, Melody Nash, Amber Schauer.
Who’s back: Sydney Weber, Soph., OH; Allison Jorgenson, Jr., MH; Kelsey Kowalski, Sr., Libero.
Coach’s comments: “So far what we have been focusing on is our defense,” Faul said. “We have been working on passing and I think we have a lot of offensive skills. … We will be a well-rounded team.”
