Relay for Life a great successThe 2012 American Cancer Society’s Annual Cass County Relay For Life raised more than $95,000 to help the society continue its mission to save lives and create more birthdays. This success can be attributed to a number of factors, starting with the incredible generosity of our sponsors, including the employees of Titan Machinery, Essentia Health, Sanford Health, Doublewood Inn, State Bank & Trust, Walmart, 107.9 The Fox, Starbucks, Penny & Pals, Target, Games Galore, Choice Financial, Shotwell Floral, Powerplay DJ, Kip Hines, Courts Plus, Family Wellness, RDO Equipment and the many other area businesses that donated money and in-kind products. We thank you for your continuous support and truly appreciate your loyalty.
Thank you to the 34 teams that participated in the 2012 Relay For Life. Without the teams, we would not have had a relay. They worked tirelessly to raise funds for the ACS and our mission to eliminate cancer. A special thank you to Jody Carpenter, this year’s event chair, for leading an outstanding group of committee members.
Also, thank you to the survivors who participated in this year’s event. You continue to provide hope and inspiration to everyone.
Every dollar raised through the Cass County Relay For Life is used by the American Cancer Society to help fund cancer research, its state and national legislative advocacy, and the society’s many educational and community service programs.
Finally, I want to thank every resident within our area who donated to this year’s Relay For Life. The generous support of this community is what makes the relay a success, and because of you, we are one step closer to finding a cure.
Brenden is Relay for Life publicity chair.
