The Fargo Moorhead Area Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead.
The funds will assist with the shelter’s winter overflow expenses, including helping to pay for increased staffing, supplies and utilities.
Blikre family donates $173,000 to NDSCS
The North Dakota State College of Science Foundation, Wahpeton, has received a $173,000 gift from the estate of the late LaVonne Blikre.
Blikre’s gift will help fund renovations to the Earl “Skip” Bute Alumni Stadium on the NDSCS campus, which was built in 1971. Renovations are planned for the public restrooms and concession area, a new retail outlet for the campus bookstore and new locker rooms.
LaVonne Blikre and her husband, the late Clair T. Blikre, former NDSCS president, were longtime Wahpeton residents and NDSCS supporters.
Transystems donates engines to tech college
The Minnesota State Community and Technical College Foundation, Moorhead, has received two Mercedes diesel engines valued at $5,000 from Transystems, Grand Forks.
The engines will be used to enhance the training of students enrolled in the diesel technology program.
