West Fargo man pleads not guilty to 14th DUI
Kevin Tegtmeier pleaded not guilty Thursday. He was arrested last monthwith a blood-alcohol content of 0.25 percent. Tegtmeier is being held in the Cass County Jail on $15,000 bond.
North Dakota’s toughest penalty against repeat drunken-driving offenders is five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. A person who’s convicted five times in seven years is eligible for the penalty.
Fargo state Sen. Tim Mathern says he’ll be introducing legislation to require DUI offenders to have different license plates and a notation on their driver’s licenses.
