House of Rock returns to The HubFARGO – The House of Rock is returning to The Hub here.
Dan Vogel, general manager of The Hub, said the House of Rock opened Thursday as a smaller concert venue and dance area.
“It will be a concert venue for 300- to 400-person shows, which are just too small for the 2,700-capacity Venue,” he said.
Tim Mahoney, a former contestant on “The Voice” and a Minneapolis native, was scheduled to open the House of Rock on Thursday night.
The Venue will still house larger, nationally and internationally known acts when they perform in Fargo. The Cadillac Ranch, the metro’s lone country-themed, bar will also continue operations.
Martin Zellar from the Gear Daddies is scheduled to perform Saturday night at the House of Rock.
“These are free shows, and they usually will be except for any national acts we bring in,” Vogel said.
The Hub opened in 2007 after a $2 million renovation of the Playmakers building into seven clubs under one roof at 2592 25th St. S.
A Bottle Barn Liquors store was also housed in the complex until it closed in March.
