Richards’ favorite floral fashion pieces

I was admiring the necklace I’d splurged on at this year’s Fargo Downtown Street Fair – an early birthday present to myself – when I noticed the similarity in design to the silver rose brooch lying on my dresser.

The pin had belonged to my husband’s great-aunt, and I was fortunate to inherit it in 2009. Suddenly, I realized how many other favorite pieces in my wardrobe acquired since then feature this sort of vintage floral motif.

My pre-birthday splurge, this vintage-inspired necklace, features three adjoining, colorful flower charms made from a hard resin. I found it under the Unglued craft tent on the first day of the Street Fair. (Sweet and Simple Jewelry Design)

White trim detail creates three blossoms on the flap of this black leather purse, a much-loved Christmas gift. Added bonus: a multitude of inner and outer pockets offer plenty of storage. (Candice Los Angeles purse)

I purchased these reddish floral sandals at a fall clearance sale a couple years ago. It was torture to wait the entire winter season to wear them. In warm weather, I pair them with neutral walking shorts or a casual black dress and paint my toenails coral to match. (Born Shoes)

Delicate petals at the neckline add dimension to this basic stretchy tee. I like to layer it under a Chanel-inspired pink-hued blazer. (T-shirt from The Limited)
