Victims identified in car-semi crash near HarveyHARVEY, N.D. – The victims in a car-semi crash near here were identified Sunday by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Marcy Koenig, 41, and two female juveniles, Keeley Koenig, 13, and Jade Koenig, 10, all of Bismarck, were in a car that collided with a semi truck at the junction of highways 3 and 52 about 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Koenigs were injured and taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot, the patrol reported.
The driver of the semi was uninjured, the patrol said. He was identified as Jon Elwood, 39, of Lake City, Minn.
Marcy Koenig was driving a car northbound on Highway 3 toward Harvey when she stopped at a stop sign at the junction with Highway 52, the patrol reported.
She then proceeded northbound, but had not seen the semi heading west on Highway 52, the patrol said. The car then hit the semi’s front driver’s side, the patrol reported.
The semi continued westbound, coming to rest in the north ditch of Highway 52.
The Koenigs were reported in satisfactory condition Saturday by the Highway Patrol, however, a Trinity Hospital spokeswoman said Sunday that the family had declined to release condition updates.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
