Moorhead man files for school board seatMOORHEAD – A Moorhead man has officially filed to be a candidate for a four-year seat on the school board here, according to a release by the board.
Scott Steffes became the second candidate to file for the position when he filed on Thursday, the release said.
Incumbent Cindy Fagerlie was the first candidate to file on July 31. Fagerlie, also of Moorhead, was first elected to the board in November 2003 and began her first term January 2004, the release said.
Filing closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The school board election will be held Nov. 6 in conjunction with the general election.
The Moorhead School Board is made up of seven residents who are elected to four-year terms. Four board members’ terms expire at the end of this year, the release said.
To apply, candidates must be at least 21 years old, a resident of the district for at least 30 days prior to the election, an eligible voter and cannot be registered as a sex offender.
