Cash, gift cards stolen in series of thefts from American Gold GymnasticsFARGO – Security video led to a burglary charge against a man accused of stealing roughly $2,000 in gift cards and cash from American Gold Gymnastics in south Fargo, court documents show.
From late March to May 15, the gym was burglarized numerous times for a total loss of between $479 and $554 in cash and $1,500 in Hornbacher’s gift cards, according to a police report filed with the burglary charge Tuesday in Cass County District Court.
Gift cards worth a total of $400 were deactivated and re-gifted back to American Gold before they were used, the report says.
Security video showed the person responsible for the thefts, later identified as Alexander Mark Hollerung, 21, of Fargo, the report claims. Hollerung allegedly admitted to the burglaries in a police interview, the report says.
The Class C felony burglary charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Hollerung’s initial court date had not been set, and an attorney wasn’t listed for him in court records. A working phone number for him could not be found.
