Fargo man sets fire to guests’ belongingsFARGO – A man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to his roommates’ belongings outside his apartment here.
Police and fire responded a call of a fire at 911 2nd Ave. S. around 5 p.m. Saturday. When police arrived, they found a large pile burning in the front yard and the building’s siding was scorched.
The apartment resident, Michael Sherman, told officers two men and a woman had been staying with him but he kicked them out, police reports said.
Sherman said the three left their things in the apartment so he threw them in the front yard and burned them. Sherman said he knew his neighbors were upstairs when he started the fire, according to court documents.
On Monday, Sherman was charged in Cass County District Court with endangering by fire, a Class C felony.
