Enderlin man crashes pickup into garage after chase

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – An Enderlin man crashed a pickup truck into a garage near here after a short chase by a state Highway Patrol trooper.

About 2:30 a.m. Sunday, 20-year-old Jordan Kemmer was speeding on Highway 281, according to a press release from the patrol.

When the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, which also had defective tail lights, Kemmer quickly turned onto a gravel road.

After about three-quarters of a mile, the truck drove into a rural farm yard, over a row of trees and through the wall of a garage, the release said.

Kemmer and passenger Kevin Lemna, also 20 and from Enderlin, fled on foot, and alcohol was found in the vehicle.

Lemna, who returned to the scene a couple of hours later, was arrested and charged with minor in possession.

Later Sunday, Kemmer admitted to driving the vehicle. Charges are pending through the Stutsman County state’s attorney’s office.
