The Wine and Spirits Guild of America, an organization of the nation’s top 39 retailers, including the Manitoba Liquor Marts, held its biannual meeting last month at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
Happy Harry’s Bottle Shops, a member since 1985, hosted the meeting. Hal Gershman, owner of Happy Harry’s Bottle Shops in Grand Forks and Fargo, is a former president of the guild.
Guild members meet biannually to exchange ideas, methods and information and to search the world for products for its customers.
Edward Jones offices support supply drive
The Edward Jones branch offices in West Fargo are supporting a school supplies donation campaign by using their offices as drop-off locations.
The branch addresses are 3306 Sheyenne St., Suite 216, and 205 Sheyenne St., Suite 1.
School supplies may be brought to either office during regular business hours through Aug. 31.
Jiffy Lube sponsoring ‘Muscle Up’ promotion
Through Sept. 11, Jiffy Lube and the Muscular Dystrophy Association will partner for the “Muscle Up” promotion.
Customers can make a $3 donation at any Fargo Jiffy Lube and in exchange will receive a coupon book containing more than $100 in savings from Jiffy Lube and other MDA supporters.
Money raised during the promotion will help support MDA programs including the MDA Clinic at Sanford Health, support groups and summer camp.
The three Fargo Jiffy Lube locations are 11 10th St. N.; 2835 13th Ave. S.; and 2740 32nd Ave. S.
BCBSND to administer student plan contract
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo, has been awarded the contract to administer the North Dakota University System student health plan.
All university system students who meet minimum credit requirements as defined by the NDUS are eligible for the student health plan. More than 48,000 students are currently enrolled in the state’s 11 higher education institutions.
Eligible students will receive a more comprehensive benefits package than previously offered because BCBSND’s Student Blue health plan complies with all Affordable Care Act regulations.
Students will also have access to care through BCBSND’s participating providers in North Dakota and through its nationwide BlueCard network.

Rotary club sponsoring annual peach, pear sale
The Fargo West Rotary Club is now taking orders for its annual peach and pear sale.
Freestone peach lugs (about 18 pounds) are $30 each and pear lugs (about 22 pounds) are $25 each.
Pre-orders will be taken until Friday and the orders must be picked up between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 at Fraser Ltd., 2902 S. University Drive, Fargo. Free delivery is available for orders of 10 or more lugs.
Fruit will be for sale on Aug. 20 if available for $32 per lug for peaches and $27 per lug for pears.
Proceeds from the sale support various non-profit organizations in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
