Matt’s Auto Service earns health award

Matt’s Automotive Service Center, Moorhead, was named business of the month by Core Health Chiro, Fargo. The award recognizes innovation in the promotion of employee and community health and wellness.

Northern Crops board elect new officers

Robert Majkrzak has been re-elected as chairman of the Northern Crops Council, the governing board of the Northern Crops Institute, Fargo. Majkrzak is president and chief executive officer of Red River Commodities, Fargo.

Karolyn Zurn, a producer from Callaway, Minn., was re-elected as vice chairwoman.

Others elected to the NCC are Dwight Mork, a producer from Bellingham, Minn.; and Keith Peltier, president and CEO of Proseed, Harvey, N.D.

John McLean, Cargill, West Fargo, was re-elected to a sixth term as chairman of the Industry Advisory Board, which advises NCI staff on educational programming and technical services.

F-M Ambulance earns three-year accreditation

F-M Ambulance Service has been awarded a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.

The accreditation was awarded for the third consecutive time after a review of the organization in more than 100 areas including response times, protocol development, documentation and community involvement.

F-M Ambulance is the only accredited service in North Dakota and one of two accredited services in Minnesota.

Spitfire team wins barbecue border battle

The competition team from the Spitfire Bar and Grill, West Fargo, was named the 2012 champion of the Iowa-Minnesota Border Battle on June 23.

The competition was between the Iowa and Minnesota barbecue societies for the BBQ Floyd pig trophy.

Spitfire is a member of the Minnesota Barbecue Society.

Stockrahm earns employee honors

Jerry Stockrahm, a general education math instructor with Rasmussen College in Fargo and Moorhead, has been named employee of the quarter.

He has been teaching at Rasmussen for more than two years. His peer nominations highlighted his friendliness, diligence and passion for teaching.

Neu earns Darden Restaurants’ top honor

George Neu, general manager of the Red Lobster in Fargo, has been presented the Joe R. Lee Diamond Club Award, Darden Restaurants’ top honor.

The award is presented annually to general managers throughout North America who demonstrate outstanding leadership by living Red Lobster’s core values of respect, integrity, genuine caring, hospitality and teamwork while also achieving top financial performance in the company’s previous fiscal year.

This is the fourth time Neu has received the award.

SWI recognized with Microsoft award

Software Warehouse International, a Microsoft Gold certified partner, was recognized as a 2012 West Region SMB Partner Award winner by Microsoft.

SWI is based in Longmont, Colo., and also operates an office in Moorhead.

The award highlights and recognizes the excellence and achievement of West Region SMB Microsoft partners who have worked innovatively to produce exceptional results in the technology industry.

WennSoft named to President’s Club

WennSoft, a provider of operational solutions with offices in New Berlin, Wis., and Fargo, has been named to the 2012 Microsoft Dynamics President’s Club.

The award is given based on outstanding customer service and honors partners who demonstrate dedication to delivering solutions that meet customer needs using Microsoft Dynamics products.

Fargo representatives recognized for sales

Several financial representatives from the Northwestern Mutual office in Fargo were recognized for individual sales efforts at the recent annual meeting in Milwaukee.

Those recognized were Teal Plaine, Mike Smith, Curt Nyman, Dan Maertens, Joe Dobbs, Aubree Cheney, Elaine Fremling, Ryan Steckler and managing partner Patrick Gores.

Four American Family agents earn awards

Greg Berg, Christine Rasmussen-Harvey, John Eidsness and Cami Sagvold, all American Family Insurance agents in Moorhead, have been recognized for providing outstanding customer service under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Insurance Agency Program.

Berg has been an agent for American Family since 1988 and has qualified for the award for seven years. Rasmussen-Harvey has been an agent since 2007 and has qualified for the award for three years. Eidsness has been an agent since 1996 and has qualified for the award for two years. Sagvold has been an agent since 1996 and has qualified for the award for four years.

Maxwell’s earns award from Wine Spectator

Maxwell’s restaurant, 1380 9th St. E., West Fargo, has received the 2012 Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

The award recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
