NCAA approves UND transition to Division IGRAND FORKS, N.D. — The University of North Dakota has completed its transition to Division I status.
The school has announced that UND President Robert Kelley received a letter from the NCAA confirming the school has completed the necessary steps to move from Division II to I.
The transition process takes five years. UND is now eligible to participate in Division I postseason competition starting this fall.
In a news release, Kelley called completing the transition a “significant milestone.”
