Greg Anderson for Clay County CommissionThere is a primary election on Aug. 14 in which several people are running for a seat on the Clay County Commission.
I want to urge a vote for Greg Anderson. Anderson has served Clay County for decades in more than one way. The way that I am acquainted with best is his service on the Clay County Planning Commission, where he served as the chairperson and conducted the often-difficult meetings with difficult issues.
Anderson had the exact skills and personal attributes it took to “shepherd” the Planning Commission’s way through hard issues – permits for gravel removal in places where residents did not want a gravel pit; large animal barns in areas where residents did not want them; the building of high towers for communications close to where rural people had their homes. I do not think there was one Planning Commission meeting in the years Anderson served that was not a difficult meeting. We attended many of them and saw how excellent Anderson’s skills are in public county service.
Anderson is more than qualified to serve as a county commissioner. His knowledge of county government is complete; his able leadership on the Planning Commission “shouts” that he should be chosen to run for the County Commission in November’s election.
