Moorhead Blues score two wins in District 9 tourneyThe Moorhead Blues picked up two victories on Friday during the Division I, District 9 American Legion baseball tournament.
Seth Blaser collected two RBIs as Moorhead defeated Crookston 6-4 at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo.
Aaron Wilmer came into the game in relief and stuck out six of the last seven batters to end the game.
Tyson Schoenborn tallied three hits and two runs scored for the Blues as Moorhead beat East Grand Forks 9-4 in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
“We kept playing hard and we kept hitting the ball,” said Moorhead coach Jeff Miller. “Anytime you can win two district games in the same day you are going to be pretty confident.”
The Blues play Fergus Falls today at 4 p.m. in Detroit Lakes.
“Fergus Falls is a good team, we played them strong all year,” Miller said. “It is going to be a good game (today).
