Fargo DUI checkpoint yields no arrestsFARGO – Police here say no one was arrested during a sobriety checkpoint early Friday on 42nd Street South.
A total of 74 vehicles entered the checkpoint on the 1000 block of 42nd Street South from midnight until 2:30 a.m., the police said in a release, but no one was arrested. One vehicle was flagged for further testing, but no arrest was made, the release said.
Since October 2004, police here have conducted 56 sobriety checkpoints that have resulted in 168 arrests for DUI, the release said.
Police say the checkpoints are a part of a larger DUI enforcement program. Their purpose is to increase the perception that motorists who choose to drink and drive will be caught, the release said.
