State, federal regulators inspect ND Oil Patch

BISMARCK — State and federal regulators are in North Dakota's oil patch as part of a routine inspection.

North Dakota environmental health chief Dave Glatt (glaht) says officials from the state and the federal Environmental Protection Agency are inspecting wells and drilling operations. They also are monitoring air quality.

Glatt says the inspectors have been in the field for the past few days, and their work could be completed Friday. He doesn't know yet if any problems were found.

Glatt and EPA spokesman Richard Mylott say similar inspections have been done over the past few years with the increased activity in western North Dakota's oil-producing region.
