Minot School Board considering construction bond issueMINOT, N.D. — Minot's School Board is considering whether to ask voters to approve a bond issue for school construction and expansion.
The city's population and its number of students is expected to grow in coming years. A consultant is telling board members they should consider buying a tract of land to possibly build a second public high school.
The consultant has also offered proposals to expand Edison Elementary School and to build a new elementary school in southeast Minot.
Minot superintendent Mark Vollmer says there is a "huge" need for a new elementary school in that part of town.
Vollmer tells The Minot Daily News the board hasn't decided whether to ask for a bond referendum or what the size of the bond issue would be.
