Actress puts lipsticks to test
Starring as Princess Ann in a local production of “Roman Holiday,” Rothenberg portrays royalty on stage in a makeup look similar to her own.
“I walked into the theater one day wearing my own makeup for a wig fitting, and they said, ‘Can you do what you’re doing right now and just bump it up a little?’,” she said.
Off-stage, her look is more minimal. Take away the false lashes and heavy-duty foundation, and her favorite products include Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer, YSL’s Touche Eclat, Nars highlighting/bronze duo in Orgasm/Laguna, Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash and Fresh’s Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment.
As for lipstick, Rothenberg tends to favor berry and fuchsia shades from Nars and YSL.
“(Lipstick) is a very feminine and timeless thing,” she said. “Growing up, when we’d finish dinner, my aunt would pull out her compact and pull out her lipstick prior to dessert – it was all very ladylike.”
