Steve Walker stepping in for Hansen in radio booth

FARGO – Former North Dakota State quarterback Steve Walker will be the color analyst for the Bison Radio Network this fall, replacing Phil Hansen who is taking a year off from the post.

Hansen, who has been part of the broadcast team since 2004, is focusing on his run for the District 4 Senate seat in Minnesota.

“I didn’t feel I could juggle both football and a rigorous campaign schedule,” Hansen said. “I will be eager to get back in the booth when the time is right.”

Walker is NDSU’s all-time passing leader with 7,033 yards and threw 60 touchdown passes from 2004-07. He had a 30-6 as a starting quarterback.

Scott Miller will return for his 15th year as the play-by-play voice of the Bison. Jeremy Jorgenson will be back with sideline reports.
